Driving Range Target Shoot
QUICK VIEW: Tuesday, March 25, 2025
Location: Oakwood Driving Range at IronOaks, 24218 S. Oakwood Blvd.
Based on your skill, decide the best strategy to accumulate 100 points by hitting balls into any variety of target nets. For example, you may hit one ball into each net for a total of 100 points. Or you may hit 5 balls into the 50 yd. net (20 pts. each) for a total of 100 points.
Note - Players supply their own golf clubs.
DETAILS:
Target nets are placed at various distances from the tee area: 50 yds, 100 yds, and 150 yds.
Each net has a different point value. The 50 yds. net = 20 pts. The 100 yds. net = 30 pts, The 150 yds. net = 50 pts.
Each person gets up to five balls to use in their attempt to score 100 points.
Points are scored when you hit a ball into a net and two points if the ball falls outside the net. You must decide which target to aim at to get the score closest to 100 without going over. Elimination occurs if the person scores more than 100 points. A “shoot off” will happen for tie scores.
RULES:
-
There will be five balls given to hit off a tee.
-
Hitting all five balls is not required, as you may stop at any time.
-
You will have a six-minute time limit.
-
The objective is to add points and get closest to 100 points without going over. The person with closest to 100 points without going over wins.
-
A player who hits a ball into all three nets will automatically be given a score of 100.
-
Elimination occurs if the player scores more than 100 points.
-
A one ball “shoot off” will happen for tie scores. Closest to the net wins.
-
All players must hit from the designated tee. Other players must stay five feet behind the tee.
Cause for elimination:
-
Players are responsible for safety of others around them and should always check the surrounding areas before swinging.
-
Aim at the targets at all times. Hitting golf balls over the boundary is prohibited, and players are responsible for any damages or injuries they cause.
-
Throwing the golf ball is prohibited.
Chip and Putt
QUICK VIEW: Tuesday, March 25, 2025
Where – Oakwood golf course chipping green at IronOaks, 24218 S. Oakwood Blvd.
Note - Players recommended to bring their own golf clubs (a few clubs will be available to use).
Golf Balls will be provided.
DETAILS:
This is an individual signup, but you will be randomly paired to make a two-person team, or you can show up with a partner of your choice. Players will rotate chipping and putting from various distances from the putting green. The goal is for one player to chip onto the green and then the second player to putt the ball into the designated hole. The score is the total number of chips and putts for the ball to go into the designated hole. Strokes are counted and the team with the lowest score after three holes wins.
RULES:
A team will consist of two players, i.e. two men, one man/one woman, or two women.
-
Players may only use two clubs – a chipper and a putter.
-
There is a 10-minute time limit. If play is not finished within 10 minutes, your score will be a 6.
-
Hole #1. One person chips onto the green. The second person putts to the designated hole.
-
Hole #2. Players alternate, so whoever did the putting on the first hole, now does the chipping, and vice versa.
-
Hole #3. Players can choose who chips and who putts.
-
The total score is the number of strokes accumulated from the three holes.
-
A one-hole “shoot off” will happen for tie scores – closest to the hole with one chip and one putt.
Cause for elimination:
-
Players are responsible for the safety of others around them and should always check the surrounding areas before swinging.
-
Aim at the targets at all times. Hitting golf balls over the putting green is prohibited, and players are responsible for any damages or injuries they cause.
-
Throwing the golf ball is prohibited.
